MAINFRAMES ARE NOT DEAD
The days of the "swivel chair view" of customer information are over
Even today, mainframes power many important businesses and are a central part of infrastructure in companies. These systems are central to many processes, but that doesn't mean you can't automate them and hide them from modern knowledge workers who need modern tooling. Mainframes have both online and batch systems. In online systems, there are screens with menus. In a few scenarios, the team has to login to legacy online systems (like CICS), select a few options in the screens and update particular fields and save it. For example, update a flag by navigating the screens and log out from the system. Finally, they send a mail to business users after updating the legacy systems.
