Robocorp Assistant -application
Downloading the latest version of Robocorp Assistant
- While logged into Control Room, click on the
Assistants
menu item in the top bar. - Select the correct installation package for your Operating System and download it
- Find the
.exe
version of the installer you downloaded on your machine and execute it. - Read and accept the Robocorp End User License Agreement
- Choose whether you want to install for your user only or for all users on the machine, in which case you will be asked for admin credentials.
- Choose the installation location.
- Wait for the installer to complete.
- Finish the installation. With the
Run Robocorp Assistant
ticked, the application will start directly.
- Find the
.dmg
version of the installer you downloaded on your machine and launch it. - Read and accept the Robocorp End User License Agreement
- In the next window, drag the Robocorp Assistant icon into the Applications folder shortcut:
- Find the Robocorp Assistant icon in your Application folder and launch it by double-clicking on it.
Now you are ready to link and start your Robocorp Assistant.
Robocorp Assistant for Linux is distributed as an AppImage package.
We recommended setting up desktop integration for AppImage.
- Find the
.AppImage
version of the installer you downloaded on your machine. - Make the downloaded file executable:
- NOTE: If you have set up desktop integration, you do not need to do this step.
- Via the UI (Gnome): click on the right mouse button on the downloaded file, select
Properties
, switch to thePermissions
tab, and select theAllow executing file as program
checkbox. You can now close the dialog. - Via the Terminal: Open a terminal, change to the directory containing the AppImage file
cd <my directory>
, and execute the commandchmod +x robocorp-workforce-agent-linux.AppImage
- Run the
robocorp-workforce-agent-linux.AppImage
file either by double-clicking on it or via the Terminal. - Read and accept the Robocorp End User License Agreement
- The application will start.
Now you are ready to link and start your Robocorp Assistant.
Link Robocorp Assistant with Control Room
- Start the
Robocorp Assistant
-application - Assistant application on startup will ask you to link to Robocorp Control Room.
- The easiest way to link is the
Link with Robocorp Control Room
function.- This uses a typical
default protocol client

setup where the website triggers the application and provides the linking details without user interaction. - If the automatic method is blocked, Assistant has the option to link manually as guided below

Manually linking Robocorp Assistant
Manual linking essentially does the same thing as the default, but the default protocol client
-method is not always supported, so a manual backup is needed.
Link using access credentials
Manage credentials
- Opens Robocorp Control Room to the correct place under
Settings
>Access Credentials
. - This is the location if you need to get back to it
- Opens Robocorp Control Room to the correct place under
Add Credential
- Give some name for the credential like
My Assistant
- Click on the eye icon >
Copy to clipboard
- Paste the value to the Assistant dialog and click

Unlinking a linked Robocorp Assistant
To unlink a linked Robocorp Assistant:
- Click on the dropdown on the top right, and select
Unlink account
: - Robocorp Assistant is now unlinked.
Uninstalling Robocorp Assistant
- Go to
Apps & features
under system settings. - Select the
Robocorp Assistant
application from the list and pressUninstall
.- On Windows, some files can get locked, so you can verify the uninstall by checking that folder
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Programs\Robocorp Assistant
does not exist.

- If you intend to re-install the Workforce Agent, you should skip this step.
- Jump to "Clearing the data folder" below
- Open Finder and find the
Robocorp Assistant
application under theApplications
folder. - Right-click on the application name and select
Move to Bin
. - After installation, you can choose to delete the data that the Workforce Agent has generated.
- If you intend to re-install the Workforce Agent, you should skip this step.

Clearing the data folder
Before deleting anything, please note:
If you have linked your Workforce Agent to Control Room, you should remove the corresponding Worker from your Control Room workspace. Link data is unique to your installation and cannot be re-created, so in Control Room the corresponding Unattended Worker becomes obsolete.
Robocorp Assistant stores data files under a common folder according to OS conventions. The folder holds the cache for running Workes, logs, and the data that links your Workforce Agent to Control Room.
- On Windows, find this in:
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\robocorp\
- Copy & paste to File Explorer address bar.
- On macOS and Linux in:
~/.robocorp/
- On macOS:
Go
->Go to Folder
-> write~/.robocorp/
